Three extraordinary health care professionals that were the product of TCU’s College of Science & Engineering Pre-Health Professions Institute were featured on the latest in a series of hand-painted murals celebrating TCU's 150th Anniversary. Serving as leaders at the individual and community level in their current roles, these alumni are fittingly represented as larger-than-life in painted portraits in downtown Chicago.

Pre-Health Professions Institute Hosts Holiday Party for Cancer Care Services
The Pre-Health Professions Institute hosted a holiday party for Cancer Care Services to support local patients and their families on Dec. 4 in the BLUU. Pre-Health students volunteered to greet guests and act as Santa's helpers. The first 20 families to arrive received gift bundles, and guests enjoyed hot chocolate, snacks, crafts, pictures with Santa, custom balloon art, face painting and a special visit from SuperFrog.
Pre-Health Professions Institute Hosts Be the Match Donor Registry Event
TCU's Pre-Health Profession's Institute is partnering with Be The Match to host an on-campus and virtual Donor Registry Drive on Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The goal of the event is to add donors to the Be The Match donor registry. Registrants can be between the ages of 18-40 years old, must meet health guidelines and should be willing to donate to any patient in need.
EPIC Grants for Student-Led Community Projects
At a reception this week, seven teams of exceptional students were recognized for the work they’ve accomplished through Experiential Projects to Impact the Community (EPIC) Grants. Since 2020 these students have worked with TCU faculty/staff and several partner organizations on service projects that have benefited TCU’s campus and the Fort Worth Community.
Pre-Health Professions Institute Director Matt Chumchal Receives TAAHP Advisor of the Year Award
Matt Chumchal, Ph.D., was bestowed the Advisor of the Year award from the Texas Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (TAAHP) in February recognizing his exemplary efforts within the Pre-Health Professions Institute. TAAHP connects Texas health professions advisors to each other and to the professional schools that students seek to enter.
